Green building – both new construction and existing facility retrofit – has the ability to increase energy efficiency, lower carbon footprints, increase employee productivity and positively impact property value.  Whether your building project includes pursuing LEED Certification or incorporating sustainable elements, Fransen Pittman is a creative and dependable green building partner.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Certification

Our firm is an active and supportive member of the US Green Building Council (USGBC).  Our employees are well versed in the LEED rating system and have developed innovative, automated spreadsheets to integrate with USGBC’s submittal templates.   Fransen Pittman has a growing portfolio of projects achieving certification at both Silver and Gold levels. Our entire estimating and project management teams are comprised of LEED Accredited Professionals (APs), who are skilled in developing and executing construction waste management and indoor air quality plans. We are familiar with a wide range of sustainable interior products including those with recycled content, low VOCs and eligible for regional qualification.

Sustainable Building and Green Retrofit Implementation

Fransen Pittman understands that the selection of materials and building with a sustainable design philosophy requires a balance between operational efficiency, environmental impact, life cycle, material availability and overall cost.  We help the project team weigh the options.  For green building retrofits, our estimators use tools to identify efficiency opportunities in building envelope, interior lighting systems, heating and cooling systems, and hot water systems.

Fransen Pittman leads the industry in managing construction site sediment and pollutants. Honoring beautiful Colorado, our unparalleled stormwater practices and awards include:
  • One of only three general contractors to be invited and participate in the Colorado Stormwater Excellence Pilot (CSEP) Program
  • Best Performing Company Award from the State of Colorado Water Quality Control Division and the Associated General Contractors of Colorado for the CSEP Program

Green Office Policies and Practices

Our office management systems include a recycling program, energy conservation practices and purchasing supplies made of post-consumer recycled materials. Our project management software program and electronic fax system reduce paper and printer ink consumption. We encourage employees to reuse commonly used office supplies and work with sustainable practices in mind.
