Colorado Academy Upper School
47,100 sq ft New Facilitycompleted in 7 months
The existing 20,000 sq ft single story Upper School was demolished and replaced with a new two-story, structural steel facility with brick and stone veneer. Demolition of the existing facility began over summer break and construction was completed during the fall semester with the campus in full use. The new facility emphasizes state-of-the-art science classrooms and learning facilities. Although Colorado Academy chose not to get LEED certification, the project incorporates a great deal of sustainable design features. Day-lighting and energy efficiency are just a few of these important features that will create 36% more energy savings over a traditionally built facility.
