Huron Street Branch Library, Rangeview Library District

Anythink Huron -- LEED Gold

Achieving LEED Gold certification, Rangeview Library District’s new 25,000 sq ft Huron Street Library is triple the size of the 39-year-old branch library it replaced. The building houses a cyber café, computer labs, staff offices and work rooms, group study and tutoring areas, as well as designated spaces for children, teen and adult services. The children’s library offers unique spaces for individual and group activities including computer interaction, craft and play areas, a Western-facing performance space, and a tree house-inspired getaway for solitary reading. Additional amenities include a 75-seat multipurpose room with its own exterior entrance. Sustainable design elements include environmentally responsible materials, minimizing site impact and incorporating educational learning moments that transmit sustainable design ideas.
